THANK YOU for participating in my monthly Christmas challenge and have a wonderful Christmas as well as a glorious Happy New Year ! X
The challenge is on hiatus for the time being and will start again last quarter of 2012 or from January 2013 at the latest. I apologise for the inconvenience
I was rummaging again and found an old folder where Vince and I, keep our leftover bits and some kits we've opened but never managed to start or/and finish ! LOL This kit from the now defunct TLC was screaming at me 'use me, use me' so I did. It's small kit with toppers and card that have already some 'partitions' created on them. I've added stitched ribbons, brads and glossy accents t the topper. Also in the kit there were some transparent stickers sentiments I applied one to another precut card cannibalising in the process but I needed a matching green.
This WEEK's THEME is stitched ribbons and/or using toppers
Add your creation to the InLinkz just below so that we can see your creations in a thumbnail, just follow the instructions, adding your infos.
Thanks for following my Christmas cards challenge and I can't believe we're already half way through our challenge !!!! X Fab
Good news everyone I've ditched Mr Linky for Inlinkz which you'll have to agree is more fun as you can see your cards as a thumbnail. It's the same as Mr Linky you add your blog post url address and your name, your email (not visible so don't worry) and finally you pick the image that shows your card ! Voila ! You're done !
This WEEK's THEME is 'No Brads/No Ribbon' and/or a little bird (possibly with a christmas feel to it).
Add your entries using the Add Linkz button and share your lovely Christmas card creations !
This week I've picked these lovely papers from a Brenda Pinnick I got from QVC a few years back. I just love it as there's so much you can do with it.
It's a diagonally cut card on the front then I added the sentiment sticker at the back which sits flush against once that front flap is shut. I cut out the other poinsettia from the left over and put it as background flower finally added the 4 small round chipboard poinsettias in the middle of each flower and on either side of the sentiment. I'm quite please with this card. It has a Eastern feel almost naif look !
The theme is to cut a diagonal on either a square or rectangular card and/or using some modern Xmas papers. Go wild with it and don't forget to add your Christmas creations on Mr Linky another 3 weeks and we're half way there ! Scary I know. X Fab
This week is number 20 can you believe it ??? nearly half way through ! Anyhoo my card this week is about very vintage rich papers, found these little gems of papers in a HOTP pad (always cheer me up to stroke papers LOL).
Theme is Candle and/or Vintage Rich papers. Have fun with the them and add your Christmas card to Mr Linky and your comments as usual. Thanks X
I'm back on the horse. I came across this lovely stamp and did a decoupage number on it. Found also lovely green coordinating papers and inked them to death ! LOL I hope you like this card better than my 'attempt' for last week.
This week's THEME is Cosy and/or Inking (edges or what-have-yous).
Have fun creating something cosy add your Christmas creation to Mr Linky and your comments as usual. Thank you all for you lovely comments I seem to feel better today I hope it lasts...
I haven't felt that well this week, for those of you who don't know I suffer from bi-polarism (also called manic depression). This week has been a tough one as I struggled to keep an upbeat outlook. I had no desire to craft so nearly skipped this week challenge even considering it to give it up as I find it hard going at times. I received lovely comments of encouragement so decided to make a card on the fly and it came out like a five year old did it but I won't disparage infants, they could even do better than that ! LOL
Anyhoo this week's it's a bling thing with a scene. So embellish your cards with bling and pull out your stamps or stickers to create a cosy wintery scenes. I used DCWV papers added Kanban bling and used some penguin stickers that literally off the drawer when I opened it ! Almost like it was begging to be used ! Ah ! LOL
As usual add your lovely Christmas Creations to Mr Linky and comment as usual. Thank you !
Now repeat after me, I will never rush using a Glossy Accent bottle .... I wish I followed this very good tip. The fact is like this: Vince to me "Did you make your weekly Christmas card ?" Cue to me with panic on my face !!! LOL
I need to be seen I keep forgetting everything ! Doh !
Anyhoo as you can see from the picture I've highlighted the berries with glossy accent but 'fudged' the ones on the right, too late to remake the card it had to do, sorry. This lovely wreath card come from the Paper Flair Christmas Kit (HOTP) and it's so much fun to cut out and assemble. I added my touch adding that striped fabric brad, the glossy accent on the berries and finally outlined the leaves with glitter Sakura pen.
So THIS WEEK'S THEME is make a Christmas card with a wreath on it and/or use glossy accents to highlight an element(s) on the card. Have fun !
Add your Xmas creations to Mr Linky and leave a comment as usual. By the way if you live in the UK why not adding yourself to my 'Stampin' with Fab' newsletter ? It goes out every three weeks or so and you get access to my private Stampin' with Fab in London secret blog ! Form to join is on the right hand side scrolling down...Thanks for joining if you do.
This week's challenge is to make a Christmas card with snowflakes and/or embossing either by hand or with embossing folders.
I used the swiss dots and my trusted cuttlebug, then used three Hot Off the Press brad buddies ( I know to use one is bad enough but three......extreme ! LOL). Sentiment also is from HOTP but it's a fabric feel sticker, they are brillant and add more texture to a card.
So have fun with your cardmaking this week and add you Christmas creations on Mr Linky and add your comments teh usual way. Thanks for keeping up this challenge. xoxoxoxox
This week's theme is to make as many Christmas cards from a kit you feel like making. Vince has made a few cards from this kit we purchased from Vicky (who in turn bought it from QVC but decided she no longer wanted it). It's a fun kit and I really like the clean lines and modern look of it.
So there you go, pick up that kit you promised you'll make cards from one day and get crafting. Add your creations to Mr Linky or/and comment the usual way. I don't mind not folllowing my theme as it's not compulsory but make sure you're adding your Christmas creations to Mr Linky, please. Thank you ! :)
This week we're back unto HOTP papers and I thought I would go for a cool combination of gray (grey) and light blue. I also used some big whit brads where I've applied some rub-ons. The whole lot is lifted away from the base card with foam squares.
I hope you like this week's theme which is Brads and/or Steel Gray (Grey) colour.
Add your CHRISTMAS cards to Mr Linky or leave your comment as usual ! Have fun !
Wow 13 weeks can you believe it ? This week challenge is tone on tone one. So if you like different shades of the same colour, be my guest. Have fun with it, I picked the gorgeous Merry Moment papers from Stampin' Up, and the great striped grosgrain ribbons (yep I had to get all four of them, LOL). The stamped sentiment is from Spotlight on Christmas and I used Versafine Olympia green for stamping. I also punched with SU scalloped square.
So to recap the THEME is 'Tone on Tone' and/or Green (but you can pick any colour you want).
Add your creations to Mr Linky and comment as per usual, thank you ! XXX Fab
Late again this week but I'm still a bit so and so. Anyhoo I had this idea of using pleated paper this week. I was putting away some Stampin' Up stuff away and found that Christmas kit just begging me to be used for this project so I did.
This week's theme is pleated paper and/or using cardstock stickers ! Have fun and use Mr Linky to link up to your creations. You can leave a comment the usual way.
Thank you for all the lovely email of encouragement ! XXXX
Quick tutorial about pleating:
I use the scor-pal and a strip of 12 inch long paper (height is up to you mine was 5"3/4' inch).
You score at > 1/2 inch, 1 inch, 2 inches, 2 1/2 inches, 3 1/2 inches, 4 inches, 5 inches, 5 1/2 inches and so on
If you don't have a scor pal just score two line at half an inch distance then to 1 inch and repeat until the strip is finished.
You start folding moutain, valley and so fort. Hope that helps.
You can call off the villagers with torches and forks... This week's challenge is late (sorry) but I've had a stonking migraine for the past 48 hours and to be honest with you I tend not to find it pleasurable to craft in that condition.
Now this week's Christmas card challenge is a bit of a toughie one...again my apologies. I was cleaning my Christmas box supplies before making my card and came across this old card we received last year. It's a commercial one but had this beautiful design at the front that was already cut out. So my craft mind thought STENCIL. I used Hero Art Stamps with the writing all round making sure I put a smaller triangle as a mask.
Then I edged it first with dye ink (SU) and finally with gold brilliance (Tsutsineko). Brilliance again to ink the stencil finally I added my newly purchased Tim Holtz distressed stickles unto the tree and the other bits it gives it a frosted look.
To make a triangle card you just measure the length of the fold and then from the top left corner match the same length on the opposite side. Just trim to form the card. You can use any card (rectangle or square).
So this week's challenge is to make a triangular card or/and use stencilling or/and stamping ! Good Luck !
I managed to use the Tea Bag Folding CD from HOTP, although those out of prints book are no longer available. Thanks for that CD you just need to print what you want create one of the projects. This one caught my eye. I thoroughly enjoyed making the card, I've used a gold star brad instead of using the supplied tiny star and sakura with glitter gel the stripes.
This week's theme is 'Alternative Techniques' so whatever you think that's not mainstream just have fun with it. Just add your creation to Mr Linky and comment as usual.
Now our WINNING bloggers for these two sets (they will get one each).
Well done guys, just send me your address details and I'll send your acryclic stamp set in the post.
On another note I'm getting so many requests asking me how I take pictures of my cards. I thought a picture would be easier to demonstrate it. I use a light box I bought from Maplin (a UK store - Think Radio Shack), I also use a daylight lamp which I perch on a roll of kitchen paper ( you can see it's all high tech ! LOL).
I take at least 7-10 pictures in various angles and use Macro (tulip symbol) as well as switching the E.V. setting to 0.7+. That overexpose the picture and I can fix it with Picasa 3.
Last week for entering the blog candy with the two lovely stamp set up for grab, any comment and/or entry in Mr Linky will count. The winner will be announced this coming Monday (March the 1st). YAY !
My apologies to be late this week but I've been very poorly with the flu and at times it's hard to get going crafting wise without the hindrance of coughing and feeling not right.
The lovely Claire from Making Handmade Cards came to my rescue. She said to me ' Fab why don't use our Vintage Christmas Papers ?' so I did and made this vintage card. Blinged it and used a bit of colorbox teal chalk ink the edges. I also used glittery Sakura to outline the middle medallion and the strip that goes across but my cheap camera didn't pick it up...sorry about that.
This week's theme is Vintage and/or Round Focal ! Have fun with the theme but you don't have to follow it just post any Christmas Cards you make we all need all the inspiration we can get...
Add your creations to Mr Linky and leave your comment as usual.
Wow week 7 already ! I can't believe it, only 41 weeks to go ! wink
I was tidying my craft corner (shock horror) and I came across these lovely poinsettia from HOTP so I thought straight away that they would look lovely on a white background. Using white space as my 'virtual frame' I positioned two words confetti (both HOTP) to create an interesting look. One sticker is texture like fabric the other is cardstock that mimics those labelling machines....
So this week's theme is Poinsettia and/or White space ( use your imagination to create a positioning of elements). Have fun !
Usual yada yada...Mr Linky for links; leave your comments the usual way.
This week's challenge is all about Ribbons. You need to use three different ones and I couldn't help but use again that Bo Bunny kit. I matted those three sticker tags unto white cardboard and put them on foamy bits to raise them up and pushed some brads through them before doing so.
Add your creations to Mr Linky and link to your blog or photos hosting solution; please add your comments the usual way, thank you !
The theme is either use three ribbons or/and tags ! Have fun with it !
This week I'm going for the simple look I've used the lovely thick Stampin' Up ribbon stamped the sentiment and punched it out (both SU). Cardstock is Ivory to match the ribbon. I also put some bling on the sentiment swirls.
Theme is punch it and bling it ! Or either ! Have fun with it.
Leave your creations on Mr Linky and comment as usual.
Four weeks already ! OMG time goes so fast and I had to be quick to think of a new theme this week so I went for Snowflakes and/or Punches.
Now the blog candy is two lovely stamp sets from Personal Impressions and designed by Kate Ganson, so leave a comment or link to your Christmas creations on your blog; each will count as an entry. Blog Candy ends February 28th !
Leave a link to your Christmas cards using Mr Linky and/or leave a comment as usual.
I went all gold matting mad this week. I've used a Christmas Tree sentiment in the HOTP pad full of quotes to colour in. I chalked it, Sakura it and finally put rubon gold on the edge of it; matted with background paper and more gold mirri ! LOL
This week challeng is to use a sentiment either printed or written by hand and/or gold (in mirri cardstock form or other means). As usual add your entries to Mr Linky and your comment so you can say Hi ! :)
I'll putting the infor about the blog candy next week as I forgot to take picture of it ! Sorry me bad ! Anyhoo all the details will be up so you can get your crafty mitts to two lovely Christmas stamp sets.
Week #2 and I decided to use this lovely Stampin' Up kit that was sitting there doing nothing plus I had the excuse to crack open the gorgeous stripey ribbon too.
This week's theme is Vintage colours and/or Stripes (doesn't have to be on the ribbon), also any Christmas card you make is welcome as following the them is not compulsory.....BUT it has to be a Christmas card please.
Please check next week out as I have a stamp set to give away as blog candy ! YAY
Add your card using Mr Linky and leave your comments the usual way, please.
